Tom Brady Should Fire His Brand Strategist

Posted on July 20, 2026July 22, 2026 by Kendra Trammel

…and hire the internet. At least that’s what the armchair critics are insinuating.

His team must be having a rough time. Not because Brady’s image is crumbling. It isn’t. But because he’s being out-strategized (yes, I’m being sarcastic), by people with 47 Instagram followers and unlimited opinions.

The internet has decided it is, collectively and immediately, a brand consultancy firm. And it’s offering free advice. Lots of it.

Here’s what’s fascinating: the criticism isn’t really about his brand. It’s about whose brand this is. His fans constructed “The GOAT.” They projected it onto him, mythologized it, built an entire narrative around a man who never asked to be confined to it. And now, every time he steps outside that box (a selfie, a laugh, visibility that reads as simply human), they frame it as brand sabotage.

They’re not worried he’s damaging his image. They’re worried he’s escaping theirs.

People are genuinely offering strategic counsel on how a man with a net worth in the hundreds of millions should manage his public life. As if visibility itself is the problem. As if existing outside The GOAT mythology is a crisis that needs fixing.

Here’s the thing: his unwanted internet “brand team” doesn’t need to manage his image. They need to manage expectations. And Brady is already doing that himself by simply refusing to perform the mythology anymore.

Do your thing, Tom. The free “consultants” will adjust. They always do. The rest of us are just here for the selfies.
