There’s something powerful about being at the track in the calm and quiet moments of dusk. The sky was streaked with clouds, soft beams of light cutting through the horizon, shining down on the neighborhood below. It felt almost as though the day was exhaling, leaving me with room to breathe.
I’ve always thought morning workouts were the key. Get it done early, no excuses. Lately, I’ve learned that the evening is where I truly disconnect. It’s in the late laps and the cool down, when the tension from the day can finally slip away. That evening, as I finished my last lap, I felt a surge of empowerment, as though the world had shifted slightly and I could conquer it all. There’s strength in release.
