Cuisine Spanish
- 1 bottle red wine (such as Rioja or Merlot) (750 ml)
- 1/4 cup brandy (60 ml)
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as triple sec) (60 ml)
- 1 cup 1 cup orange juice (240 ml)
- 1/4 cup sugar (50 g)
- 1 orange (sliced)
- 1 lemon (sliced)
- 1 lime (sliced)
- 1 apple (cored and sliced)
- 1 cup strawberries (sliced)
- 1 cup club soda or sparkling water (240 ml) (optional, for a fizzy touch)
- ice
Mix the Base: In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and orange juice. Stir in the sugar until it dissolves.
Add the Fruit: Add the orange, lemon, lime, and apple slices to the pitcher. Stir to combine.
Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld. For best results, chill for up to 24 hours.
Serve: Before serving, add the club soda or sparkling water if you like a fizzy sangria. Fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria over the top, making sure to include some of the fruit slices in each glass.
Garnish (Optional): Garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
